Tahoe local shredder Carson McCarron loves to be in the air, even when the landing is sharky.
Palisades Tahoe (previously Squ*w Valley) has seen a significant amount of snow recently, but the base is behind normal, and lines exist right now that normally would be covered at this time of year.
That didn’t stop Carson from throwing it down on Mainline Pocket, one of the most heroic areas of Palisades Tahoe.

I think (but don’t quote me on this) Carson threw a backflip mute grab. The camera doesn’t do it justice: even that first line off Mainline Pocket is steep.
Carson explains why he opted for Mainline Pocket and not The Palisades or some other iconic area with steep lines and cliffs to choose from (because there’s a lot packed in the one resort).
“Main line has been where the party is at this year. Doing new lines and getting creative with the low snow levels is a blast.”
With the low snow cover, your hike up becomes a full-scale inspection: there are tons of rocks you can clip below the initial cliffs, and that’s almost more dangerous than the huck itself!
Despite the low tide conditions, every aspect of this video is perfect, down to the lighting. Carson specifically thanked the filmer, Brandon Beck: “this shot lined up perfectly with the sun and lake gleaming in the back.”
Brandon Beck, the man behind the camera, is an expert cliff jumper and skier living in Lake Tahoe where he raises his two kids. He has partnerships with the popular local ski company Moment Ski Company and Olympic Boot Works.
Both of these skiers provide a lot of enjoyment for everyone in Tahoe: resorts are made for getting the crowds hyped up and trying new, exciting lines. Who better to incentivize than Brandon and Carson?
