The Los Angeles Dodgers’ big-spending offseason continues to be a major talking point. While several Dodgers have spoken out in support of their moves, others have offered their own takes.
For Atlanta Braves reliever A.J. Minter, the Dodgers’ offseason doesn’t guarantee them anything though. He made an appearance on the Foul Territory show.
“We can be better than we were last year,” Braves reliever AJ Minter said. “That’s saying a lot, because we did set a lot of records last year especially on the offensive side. Money doesn’t buy wins. Obviously the Dodgers are a great team, they expect to be right there in the postseason this year. They went out and got some really good players. But we’ve seen it before. I mean, not to pick on the Mets, money is not gonna buy you a World Series, not gonna buy you a division champ. It takes a lot more. It takes guys all pulling together in the clubhouse… I think that’s what separates us from other teams. We treat each other like family… We’re the pedestal of organizations.”

The Dodgers know that the offseason won’t alone win them the World Series. However, they also believe the moves they have made put them in a strong position to win their first World Series since 2020.
Of course, the Dodgers will have to get through teams like the Braves, who set records while leading the MLB with a 104-58 record. Like the Dodgers’ big spending, the Braves’ fantastic regular season didn’t guarantee them any postseason wins. Instead, the Texas Rangers won the World Series.
It will come down to both teams making and showing up in the postseason to actually win a title. For now, it’s about the preparation to get to that point.
