The Memphis Grizzlies are currently 3-13, second to last in the West. Much of that has to do with the multitude of injuries on the team and Ja Morant‘s 25-game suspension.
A lot of outsiders don’t feel bad at all for the Grizzlies, after all the team was showboating and talking trash to everyone when the team was having success. All of it could be summed up with Morant’s notorious clip where he said ‘I’m fine in the West‘.
Here is what NBA Twitter was saying about a year ago on Morant and the Grizzlies:
Absolutely love the fact that Ja Morant’s dad is at every single one of his son’s NBA games regardless of what city he’s playing in, supporting your kids as they live out their dreams should be the goal for every father if you ask me https://t.co/V9D6RzKEKR

When Ja Morant is playing like this, and his teammates are capable of finishing, Memphis is damn near unstoppable offensively.

Ja Morant is cut from the same cloth as Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose, and it’s just a matter of time until he wins the MVP and a title pic.twitter.com/RKDa97xzkA

i just watched Ja Morant dribble past Jokic like the Roadrunner was messing with Wile E. Coyote.

Seems that Memphis has done a pretty good job building this team even without Ja Morant.

Memphis is one of the most entertaining young teams in the league and they’re still top 2 in the West after everyone predicted them to be a play-in team this season. Let them be cocky and dance

Ja Morant is the best player from the 2019 NBA Draft.

The Grizzlies are infuriating to play cause its just a bunch of nobodys murdering you all night. Fym “John Konchar” just hit back to back logo shots

With respect to Mike Conley, Ja Morant is the real Conductor. He’s orchestrating everything for the Grizzlies. You can see how he’s in Matrix mode – everything has slowed down for him now. MVP is well within reach.

((it’s okay to say Ja Morant guys, don’t let nostalgia get in the way))

Memphis is entering Spurs territory. Underdiscussed. Consistently very good to great. Ja Morant will be a bigger star than Duncan or Leonard were. But the rest of the team will likely fly under the radar in a similar fashion. Death. Taxes. The Spurs. Death. Taxes. The Grizzlies.

To play this well without Ja Morant and Desmond Bane, this grizzlies team has a chance to be really, really, special.
— Brennon Chapman (@BrennonChapman) December 13, 2022
If you want to see why the Memphis Grizzlies can win the Western Conference this year, just watch them play without Ja Morant and Desmond Bane.

The NBA office wants Luka or Ja Morant to get it so bad. Too much politics now

Ja Morant will be the new face of the NBA

He spoke too soon Memphis just fine and the warriors are getting their reality check😂😂😂😂

Five years ago today, Murray State freshman Ja Morant was coming off 17-11-9 against Detroit Mercy, and was three days away from his first collegiate triple-double against EIU.
Tonight, he debuts his first Nike shoe, in the first-ever Christmas game for Memphis.
Sensational.

Ja Morant is gonna win a title in the next 3 years. Dude is gonna be the face of the NBA alongside Tatum & Luka Dončić for atleast the next decade
