Shohei Ohtani is officially a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Yes, we’ve known that for quite some time now, but there are certain moments that Dodger fans have been waiting to see to make that statement feel real.
On Tuesday, one of those moments was checked off, as Ohtani took his first real game at-bat as a member of the Dodgers.
Ohtani, hitting behind Mookie Betts and in front of Freddie Freeman, saw four pitches in his first at-bat. He swung through one — losing his helmet in the process — fouled one off and ultimately struck out looking on the fourth pitch.
Here’s a video of the full at-bat:
Ohtani will likely see one more at-bat in this game, potentially two, so make sure to follow Dodgers Nation on Twitter for live play-by-play of the game, and to talk with tons of Dodger fans throughout it. You can follow by clicking right here.
