Late last week, October 27th, Park City Mountain Resort, Utah, announced that “our snowmaking team has started making the magic happen across the mountain.”
The pivot towards a full-press snowmaking effort was catalyzed by dropping temperatures in Utah.

While we’re still about a month out from Park City Mountain’s opening day — November 17th — the arrival of snowmaking season bodes well for those future turns.
The past few days have been chock full of good news for skiers — big storm cycles out west, resorts kicking off snowmaking operations, and, the kicker: Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, announcing its opening day.
In short, ski season is careening full steam ahead, seemingly out of nowhere. And I, like you, dear reader, am stoked. Wax those skis up, tune those edges, and, just to be safe, do those snow dances: the time of the year is officially upon us.
