The Atlanta Braves became the first team to qualify for the postseason this week, clinching the NL East for the sixth consecutive season on Wednesday night. Following the win, their superstar (and likely the 2023 NL MVP) Ronald Acuna Jr. took some time to respond to a rival manager. Phillies skipper Rob Thomson took exception to Acuna’s home run celebration earlier this week. Acuna, with an assist from Tyler Matzek, got the last word in. “If you don’t like it, stop it. If you can’t stop it, admire it. If you can’t admire it, keep it down so everyone else can enjoy the show.” Barring a late-season collapse, Philadelphia will be heading to the playoffs as well, and if these two rivals meet up, you can be assured that both teams will use this bulletin board material as extra motivation in what is already a tense rivalry.
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. Acuna has been the spark plug atop the Braves lineup all season, leading all of baseball in runs scored. So with that in mind, how many of the MLB players with the most runs scored in a season since 2000 can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
