Each year millions of fans flock to Los Angeles to take in a game at Dodger Stadium. It has become a summer pastime for baseball fans and tourists from all across the world.
In a study conducted last year by aGamble, Dodger Stadium was named “the most Instagrammed place in Major League Baseball.” The stadium has been one of the most famous parks in the country for a long time, and its popularity continues to this day.
However, when it comes to concessions, the stadium may be lacking. In fact, according to Ontario Bets, Dodger Stadium concessions ranked 27th out of the 30 major league ballparks.
That is the fourth-worst in totality. Only the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox and Oakland A’s ballparks ranked lower.
The listmakers considered four key factors. First, the number of concessions per square foot. Second, the number of concessions per stadium capacity. Third, the price of beer, per ounce. And finally, the price of a hot dog.
Each individual weighting was ranked up to 10, also factoring in the value of the Canadian dollar to include the Toronto Blue Jays. The scores would be combined and the higher scores ultimately topped the list.
It was certainly a surprise to see Dodger Stadium coming in so low. But when you factor in how the report weighs everything, it does make some sense. The price of food and drinks tend to be higher in larger markets. The price of beer, per ounce, was the highest on the list by at least 30. Additionally, the average price of a hot dog was one of the higher in the league, too.
Despite this, Dodger Stadium still packs its seats every game. Just last season, the Dodgers continued their annual dominance when it comes to attendance, and they plan to do the same once again this season.
