But not before we watch England and Wales in their separate matches in the Quarter Finals of the Rugby World Cup. They are being held this weekend in Marseille to the south of the Alps. NEW
Regular readers will know we have been on the road for a few weeks visiting the Pyrenees, The Alps and the Jura mountains:
Amoung other ski resort visits, we have reported from Verbier in Switzerland on what’s new for the approaching season:
And had countless business meetings as we prepare for the approaching winter.
More of our travels later but first this weekend in Marseilles.
Like many of our journey to the Alps in winter we took the train, after returning to the UK from France last week for a couple of days for a few ski meetings in the UK.
Eurostar to Gare du Nord from St Pancras in London, two stops on the Metro (Line D at €2.30) and then train from Gare de Lyon.
A Paris bar seemed to be supporting the right team as we popped in for a quick one:
We even caught a glimpse of the foothills of the Alps as we sped past on the way south.
3-hours after leaving Paris we made our first stop – Marseille.
The train is such a simple way to get to SE France and we simply prefer it to flying – in winter or any other time of the year.
First up in Marseilles is Wales v Argentina.
We’ll be reporting on the match later.
On Sunday it is England v Fiji.
Now what about further detail on our visits to the mountain ranges of Europe over these past four weeks or so:
And the articles we have posted on what is new in resorts for the approaching ski season:
It’s been quite a trip.
