Formula 1 ticket prices are set to rise on average 8-10% in 2024. With most races now on sale, Hungary still offers the cheapest tickets on the entire calendar.
*Tickets are not yet on sale for the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix. When Shanghai was last on the calendar in 2019, it offered some of the season’s cheapest tickets.
This analysis is based on ticket price data from 17/24 F1 races planned for 2024, as well as limited data from the stateside races in Miami and Austin, where some tickets are already on sale. The following races are not included in the analysis, as 2024 tickets are not yet on sale: China, Azerbaijan, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
Ticket prices are taken from official sources and don’t include any processing or delivery fees. Prices are for 3-day tickets, unless stated otherwise. Conversions from local currency to USD have been made at current exchange rates (December 2023).

With little more than three months until the new challengers hit Bahrain International Circuit for the first race of the 2024 Formula 1 season next March, tickets are already on sale for the majority of races next season. Formula 1 tickets are going on sale earlier than ever and some of the most popular races are already close to selling out.
Analyzing available tickets for next year for our annual ranking of Formula 1 ticket prices (which we expect to publish around March 2024), we can observe that prices are on the rise at the majority of races.
Ranking 2024 F1 Ticket Prices in USD: Hungary Cheapest, Mexico City Most Expensive
With 17 of 24 races analyzed for 2024, the Hungarian Grand Prix remains the cheapest F1 race to attend. Tickets for the Hungaroring cost on average $207 USD, a year on year increase of 12.5%. Despite not all race tickets being on sale yet for 2024, it appears likely that Hungary will retain its status as the cheapest race to attend next year. The only potential competition that the Hungaroring could face will be from the Chinese Grand Prix. When Formula 1 last raced in Shanghai in 2019, China offered some of the cheapest tickets on that season’s calendar.
Japan narrowly edges out Bahrain to be the second cheapest race to buy tickets for in 2024, while the average ticket price for Australia (aided by a favorable exchange rate) is also under $300 USD. Tickets are also cheap for Canada (also thanks to a favorable exchange rate), while affordable races to attend in Europe include both races in Italy, and the Spanish and Austrian Grands Prix.
At the other end of the scale, the Mexico City Grand Prix is the most expensive to attend of the 17 races analyzed so far, though this is largely due to the very high cost of Main Grandstand seats at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. The most expensive races to attend in Europe are the Monaco Grand Prix and the British Grand Prix, though Silverstone’s use of dynamic pricing makes it hard to analyze ticket prices for this race. Buyers who secured their seats early for the 2024 British Grand Prix will have paid a lot less than currently advertised prices.

Local Currency: Average F1 Ticket Prices 8-10% Higher in 2024
Comparing the three main categories of tickets in our analysis – general admission, the cheapest grandstand seats and seats opposite the starting grid – ticket prices have risen on average 8-10% from 2023 to 2024 when expressed in local currency.
The biggest price rises can be seen at some of 2023’s cheapest races (e.g. Australia, Japan, Canada, Austria, Hungary). With prices at these races coming off a relatively low base, they remain cheap when compared to the rest of the calendar, especially when expressed in USD.
The promoters of the races in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy (Monza) and Mexico City have raised prices more or less in line with inflation, adding around 5% on average to 2024 ticket prices.
Some races which were already on the expensive side have also raised their prices for 2024, notably the Monaco Grand Prix, where grandstand seats are 10-15% more expensive. Cheaper ticket categories at the Singapore Grand Prix have seen price increases of 15-25%, while more expensive ticket categories have unchanged prices for 2024.
Prices are not higher at every race, though. Ticket prices in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Italy (Imola) remain virtually unchanged for 2024.
Prices Fall in the USA; Remain High Relative to Other Races
Whilst not all tickets are on sale yet for the stateside races in Miami and Austin (and not at all for Las Vegas), we can already observe that the seemingly unstoppable rise of F1 ticket prices in the USA seems to have come to an end. Grandstand tickets for the 2024 Miami Grand Prix* are 15-30% cheaper on average than 2023, while 3-day General Admission tickets for the 2024 United States Grand Prix* are being sold for $349 USD, 26.5% cheaper than this year. Despite the heavy discount, General Admission tickets for the USGP are still the second most expensive of the 18 races analyzed; only Britain is more expensive for unreserved access.
Attending a race in the USA in 2023 cost on average twice as much as the season average. And it seems like Americans had a limit as to how much they were prepared to pay, as not all tickets were sold and others had to be steeply discounted in the weeks leading up to this year’s three races in the USA.
As well as more expensive tickets, other factors may have also contributed to less demand for F1 tickets in 2023, especially in the USA. These include the dominance of Max Verstappen, who won 19 out of the 22 races this season, and had wrapped up the title with six races remaining (before the races in Austin and Las Vegas), as well as higher inflation and interest rates, which negatively impacted investment markets, consumer confidence and spending.
*Not all ticket categories are on sale yet for the 2024 Miami and United States Grands Prix. Tickets are not yet on sale at all for the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Japan offers the cheapest General Admission tickets (West Open Area) on the 2024 F1 calendar, with three day access for just $81 USD. Also priced below the $100 USD mark are tickets for General Admission (Circolare) at the 2024 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. GA tickets are also affordable at the Italian, Hungarian, Austrian and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, costing less than $150 USD for three days. At the other end of the scale, General Admission tickets are most expensive at Silverstone, Monaco and Circuit of The Americas. The average price of General Admission tickets for the 18 races currently on sale for 2024 is $217 USD. Learn More: Top Ten Formula 1 Races for General Admission Tickets in 2024
The Bronze 1/2 grandstands at the Hungaroring are the cheapest seated tickets currently available in 2024, priced at $153 USD for three days. Grandstand G in Japan and the Victory Grandstand in Bahrain are also priced below $200 USD in 2024. A good number of races offer seats priced between $200-300 USD, including Italy (Imola & Monza), Canada, São Paulo, Austria and Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, the most expensive grandstand seats can be found in Britain (Farm Curve Grandstand), Miami (Beach Grandstand) and Monaco (X1/X2 Grandstands). The average price of the cheapest grandstand in 2024 (from the 18 races analyzed so far) is $345 USD.
Grandstand seats opposite the pits and starting grid are normally amongst the most expensive available at each circuit. Of the 18 races where such tickets are already available for 2024, prices range from a low of $338 USD for Super Gold (Row 1-12) seats in Hungary to a high of $1,746 USD for Main Grandstand seats in Mexico City. Seats opposite the pits cost less than $500 USD in Australia (Fangio Grandstand) and Bahrain (Main Grandstand), while the average for the 18 races analysed so far is $801 USD.
