Press Release provided by Fischer
Fischer announces the release of a one-of-a-kind ski boot dubbed the RC4 Pro for winter 23/24. Through a first-time-ever collaboration between a ski boot manufacturer and ZipFit, the RC4 Pro models include a customizable ZipFit innerboot. This ski boot offers the ultimate fit for those seeking top-of-the-line power transfer and unbeatable downhill performance.
The RC4 PRO boot, winner of the Outside Magazine and Ski Magazine Editor’s Choice Awards for winter 2023/24, is available in MV (medium volume) and LV (low volume) options and is packed with the latest ski boot technologies. The RC4 Pro MV features the new BOA® H+i1 system, which wraps the shell to every foot shape and uses TPU (thermoshape polyurethane) to maximize power transfer and control. The CARBONFUSED cuff and ZipFit innerboot mean the RC4 Pro MV and RC4 Pro LV have flex ratings of 140 and provide competition-level performance for skiers looking to charge hard daily on snow.
Christoph Lentz, Boot Product Manager at Fischer, explains the inspiration for the collaboration with ZipFit: “As a personal believer in the ZipFit product, I sensed that ZipFit innerboots would be the perfect addition to the RC4 Pro line of boots. Mutual synergies between the two brands were also clear from the beginning: Fischer with a very strong presence in Europe and a long history of performance skis—ZipFit with a strong North America presence and credibility with competent boot fitters.”
ZipFit’s innovative liner technology and meticulous attention to detail have earned them recognition. Each liner is handmade in Italy, customized to your foot, and offers unmatched durability. For the first time, it’s available in a purpose-built ski boot for the top-of-the-line power transfer provided by the Zipfit innerboot.
“Fischer set out to make the best alpine ski boot possible and when they approached our team about including a ZipFit liner, they were aligned with our commitment to uncompromising performance,” notes Chris Dominick, Managing Director at ZipFit. “They didn’t ask us to cut corners. The RC4 Pro exemplifies their commitment to design and performance, marking the first ski boot crafted with equal attention to both the liner and the shell. Working with Fischer was an easy decision because they recognized the quality of a ZipFit liner and understood that to build the best-performing alpine ski boot, they needed to have the best-performing innerboot at the core. The RC4 is just that, the best alpine boot available with a dynamic and customizable fit.”
