The Formula 5000 Drivers Association recently announced its racing schedule for the upcoming 2024 season. Three races at three world-renowned race tracks are on the docket for the 2024 Revival Race Series.
The 2024 U.S. Formula 5000 Revival Races will take place at the following venues:
• June 13 – 16: Indianapolis Motor Speedway F1 track with SVRA
• July 11 – 14: Road America – The WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman
• August 21 – 25: Watkins Glen SpeedTour with SVRA
The Association also announced that Rick Parsons will be appointed President of the organization effective January 1, 2024. Parsons will replace Seb Coppola, who will assume the position of Vice President. After 16 years at the helm of the Association directing the F5000 group and multiple events, Coppola decided to take a well-deserved break.
“It has been a wonderful experience over the past years to lead the group and make so many lifetime friends,” Coppola noted. “We have had some great racing at most of the best race tracks in North America and I am grateful to all our members who have been part of those experiences. The time is right now for someone else to lead the group. I will remain involved with the F5000 group and will help Rick during the transition in his new role.”
Additionally, the Association announced that Paul Kuhl and Chris Schneider had been appointed new directors to the Association Board of Directors replacing Mark Harmer and Bruce Leeson, who resigned for health-related reasons. According to Coppola: “Mark and Bruce have made huge contributions to the F5000 group and we all owe them enormous gratitude. I am sure they will continue to contribute to the Association in other ways for many more years. We also welcome Paul and Chris as new directors, who will bring new energy to the group.”
