Sölden Sunday started with the lowering of the start due to dense fog at the top of the course—however, the shortened course made for an exciting sprint.
With the titans of the sport leading, the extreme wind arrived, creating an unmanageable situation. The race organizers suspended and ultimately canceled the event after the 47th competitors.
It was unfortunate for the North Americans (NA). Four Stifel US Ski Team members and Canadian superstar James Crawford were inside the top 30 and in an excellent position to qualify for the afternoon finale.
River Radamus brilliantly navigated the first run, securing the 7th fastest time when officials suspended the race. Additionally, his teammates were poised to qualify for advantageous start positions for the second run. The versatile Canadian Crawford was the second-best North American of the morning, delivering the 20th fastest time.
