Not what the Dodgers wanted to see at the end of this long road trip but Max Muncy was forced from Sunday’s game against the Rays with an apparent leg injury. He pulled up slowly at second base in the 2nd inning and was checked on by Dave Roberts and the training staff. The issue looked to be either his left knee or possibly a calf cramp — something in the lower left leg area.
Max stayed in and eventually scored but was out of the game when the Dodgers went back out on defense, so the removal seems to be precautionary. Chris Taylor took over at third base and James Outman came into the game off the bench and went into center field.
Muncy had already hit his 17th home run of the season earlier in the game.
