At this point in his legendary career, it may be easier to name things that Clayton Kershaw hasn’t won or done. Kershaw made Dodger history again on Sunday as he was named to his 10th All-Star team, tying the franchise record alongside Hall of Famer Pee Wee Reese. This is now the second year in a row that Kershaw was named to the National League team and he will now be heading to Seattle next week.

On the season, Kershaw has pitched in 16 games and holds an ERA of 2.55. He is tied for the National League in wins with 10 and is having one of the better years of his career in a long time. Kershaw has also added in 105 strikeouts in 95.1 innings this season.
Before his injury in his last start, Kershaw could have been in the conversation to start the All-Star game at T-Mobile Field next week but he likely won’t suit up in order to make sure that he rests and heals up for the stretch run of the season. Even if Kershaw doesn’t end up playing in the game, this is still an awesome achievement for him at this stage in his career.
Kershaw has been one of the more relied upon starting pitchers for the Dodgers this season as the team has seen a multitude of injuries and inconsistent play. Manager Dave Roberts has needed him to be the stopper for this team once again and Kershaw has delivered time after time.
This will be another special mark on his historic career that helps cement him as one of the greatest pitchers in not only Dodgers history, but baseball. Kershaw doesn’t take these achievements for granted and neither should anyone because we aren’t fully sure how much longer he will play. He has hinted at only being around the game for a little longer so cherish every pitcher that he makes.
