Going into the trade deadline, many MLB analysts have listed a right-handed batter among the Dodgers’ needs as the second half of the season prepares to kick off Friday.
LA took a step towards addressing this need when they signed outfielder Jake Marisnick, a member of the infamous 2017 Houston Astros team that was revealed to have been using an elaborate sign-stealing system on their way to a World Series victory over LA.
Marisnick isn’t going to break any team batting records, but he is a solid option for the Dodgers to have while right-handed hitters Trayce Thompson, Chris Taylor and Miguel Vargas are all missing time either due to injuries or demotion. Marisnick hit .232 with two home runs across 33 games for the Detroit Tigers, who recently designated the 32-year-old for assignment.
We asked you, Dodgers Nation, how you felt about LA’s move on the final night of the All-Star break. Here’s how some of you responded.
Some took a utilitarian approach.
It’s fine if he can help us win.

Others attempted to read the tea leaves on how this might affect the Dodgers’ trade deadline moves.
Trade piece. He won’t see significant playing time in LA

Others, either because of Marisnick’s mediocre stat line or his affiliation with one of the most-hated teams in baseball, were not happy.
This is one time I really wish we had a thumbs down button on this platform. ??

I’ll boo anyone from the 2017 Trashtros and current Trashtros team, even a Dodger

Some of you were rather blunt, but we thank you for your honesty.
He sucks

We will boo him hard if he sucks….
