Good morning!
You may have gotten some lovely gifts this season, but nothing as good as this:

Jonathan used to read this blog way back when it was still relevant, and a co-worker presented him with this keepsake, which I presume is merely a novelty plate, but which is still more legitimate than 90% of the ones you’ll now find on cars here in New York. And I couldn’t help getting a little sentimental, as it’s been nearly sixteen years now since that phrase first appeared on this blog (or at least this blog V1):

After all these years I’m incredibly fortunate that people still take the time to swing through here, and I’m especially grateful for all the people who have donated since I reached out early this year. Between the generous support I received as well as the additional work I’ve taken on since then I’m in a much better position to continue to bore you indefinitely, and I consider it a privilege to do so. Bikes change, and media changes, and the Internet changes, but I remain a backwater where malcontents can join together in order to lament those changes, and that’s a legacy I can live with:
So thank you very much for reading, count your blessings, and may you ride with a tailwind into 2024.
Yours etc.,
