RED Resort, Canada, released an operations update: starting tomorrow, Saturday February 17th, their lift hours will be extended to 3:30pm.
Earlier this season, RED was forced to delay their original opening day to December 16th (still not awful, considering the condition-related challenges this season).

Now, they’re making up for lost time.
Officials at RED joke that the extended hours translate to one of two options: “more time on the slopes orrrr more time cheersing beers and eating Mexican fare at Taco Rojo! 🌮 What’s your choice?”
I’d probably go for the extra ski time, especially since many resorts have a magical pattern of emptying out after 1pm.
It has been a busy month for RED Resort so far.
Recently, the resort hosted the Adult 2* Qualifier at RED and saw “103 athletes – the most we’ve ever had – coming to Links Line and putting on a mind-blowing performance.”
They also hosted the Canadian Open U12 Junior Regionals and Junior 3* events.
They were “an electrifying showcase,” with more than 200 of the premier junior skiers in North America battling it out for the prestigious Freeride Crown.
“Despite facing challenging conditions, these young daredevils fearlessly shredded down Link’s Line, defying gravity with jaw-dropping stunts and heart-pounding maneuvers. Their boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm lit up the slopes, leaving no doubt that the future of freeskiing is in the hands of these thrill-seeking prodigies.”
But now, everyone has more time to thrill-seek at RED. Until 3:30pm, to be exact.
