Only days after receiving the call to the majors, Toronto Blue Jays prospect Davis Schneider has equaled a remarkable rookie mark.
Schneider tallied four hits Sunday against the Boston Red Sox, giving him nine on the year, which ties Coaker Triplett (1938) for the most by a player through the first three games of their career, per Sarah Langs of MLB.com.
Furthermore, while Triplett failed to homer over that time, Schneider has gone deep twice. So, in reality, no player has done what Schneider has done three games into their career.
Schneider finished 4-of-5 at the plate in Sunday’s 13-1 shellacking of the Red Sox. The second baseman drove in four of Toronto’s 13 runs, including a two-run jack in the fourth off Red Sox’s reliever Chris Murphy, his second on the year.
