When Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout homer in the same game this season, the Los Angeles Angels are undefeated. That held true Wednesday when the two combined for three of the five longballs for the Halos in a 12-5 win over the Chicago White Sox.
The Angels are now 5-0 in games when their two All Stars go deep together. That’s the most of any duo in baseball this year, and it’s the 27th time they’ve done so in their respective careers. The Angels are 19-8 when that happens.
Two deep balls weren’t enough Wednesday, though, as Ohtani hit a pair of two-run shots of his own, including this bomb to center in the top of the third inning.
