Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon reportedly will not face any charges for an altercation with an Oakland A’s fan following their season opening game.
That report comes via the Los Angeles Times on Friday.
According to the Times, police investigated a misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor battery charge following the incident. Rendon was reportedly not named in the investigation, with the report only sighting the location, date, time and a player wearing an Angels uniform.
Police said no victim ever came forward.
Multiple videos went viral on social media following the Angels’ season-opening loss in Oakland showing Rendon confronting a fan who had been heckling players as they walked to the locker room. Rendon was seen grabbing the fan’s shirt and swearing at him.
