The Arab Super League makes a stop in Florida for the LIV Golf Miami event. Taking place at Donald Trump’s National Doral Golf Club from tomorrow until Sunday, April 7th, the top players from the breakaway league will compete for a total prize pool of $25,000,000, with $20,000,000 allocated to the individual competition and $5,000,000 for the team event.

After a four-week break and just before the Masters (scheduled for April 11-14 at Augusta), Miami will witness a showdown where Spanish golfer Jon Rahm, currently ranked number 3 in the world, will seek his first victory on the circuit.

The inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series commenced on June 9, 2022, at the Centurion Club near St Albans in Hertfordshire, UK. Subsequently, in 2023, the Invitational Series transitioned into the LIV Golf League. Financed by the Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, LIV Golf has attracted attention and scrutiny from journalists and commentators.
Some have suggested that the tour serves as part of efforts by the Saudi monarchy to enhance its public image through sport, amidst criticism directed towards the kingdom for alleged corruption and human rights violations.
