2023 CSC Academic All-District At-Large recipients
CHICAGO – Four University of Chicago wrestlers were selected to the 2023 Academic All-District At-Large Team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Tyler Joseph compiled a 12-8 record on the season while wrestling at 174 pounds. The sophomore also pinned four opponents. In tournament action, he placed second at the UAA Championships, second at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Invite and eighth at the NCAA Regional.
Vincent Menozzi wrestled at 141 pounds and posted a 17-12 overall record. The senior won the UW-Platteville Invite at his weight class while also taking runner-up at the UAA Championships and the Millikin University Open.
Griffin Seyfried tallied a 22-13 season record at 133 pounds. He racked up eight pins and three technical falls. The senior took second at the UW-Platteville Invite, third at the UAA Championships, third at the MSOE Invite and fourth at the NCAA Regionals.
Drew Vlasnik started at 157 pounds and submitted an 18-5 record on the season. The junior posted three technical falls amongst his victories. Vlasnik also placed runner-up at the UAA Championships, second at the UW-Platteville Invite, third at the Elmhurst University Invite and seventh at the Wheaton College Pete Willson Invite.
Nominees for CSC Academic All-America must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
