The newest Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, Nabil Crismatt, may have thrown shade at his former team in his latest Instagram post.
Crismatt, a former San Diego Padres pitcher, noted in his latest social media post that it is “nice to be in blue now.”
Crismatt signed with the Dodgers this offseason on a minor league deal after spending the past three seasons with the San Diego Padres. He was with the Padres from 2021-2023, where he collected a 3.83 ERA, 4.00 FIP, 1.34 WHIP and 145 strikeouts in 159.2 innings over 102 appearances.
However, Crismatt’s time within San Diego came crashing down as in 11 innings, he scored a 9.82 ERA and allowed 17 hits, 12 earned runs and three home runs with only nine strikeouts.
After only seven games, he was DFA’d by the Padres in June 2023 and elected for free agency. A couple of days later, he signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks on a minor league deal.
It was not a pretty ending to his time in San Diego. Whether he threw shade at the Padres intentionally or not, it’s clear he’s happy to be a Dodger. If Crismatt can find his 2021-2022 form in Los Angeles, the Dodgers could have themselves a steal of the offseason.
